O’s speech to the school children has created quite a dust-up around the country. Here is Gibbs’ take:
"I think we've reached a little bit of the silly season when the president of the United States can't tell kids in school to study hard and stay in school," presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters. "I think both political parties agree that the dropout rate is something that threatens our long-term economic success."
I think Gibbs’ dismissive attitude indicates the WH does not grasp how much distrust O has generated across the country.
This goes deeper than one speech. It’s O’s whole agenda and his trying to ram it through Congress. People simply don’t trust him and the furor over this speech is just a symptom.
