O certainly read Alinsky's book since he was involved with community organizing in Chicago where Alinsky started out. Cliton must have as well; her senior thesis at Wellesley was on Alinsky. It is not certain that she bought into Alinsky's tactics, however, as she described herself as a 'modern progressive' which would put her into the same anti-constitutionalism mold as Woodrow Wilson and Herbert Croly.
