Things have changed quite a bit since that FAQ was written. Chiefly, the editor now flags open DIVs in real time, so open DIVs should be less of a problem. But, more to automatic correction, the editor merely adds a </div> at the end of the post creating nested DIVs which may or may not have the intended behavior. Now, I have suggested bloggers do just that but only as a last resort. I wouldn't want that to be the first option mainly because I am a stickler for correctness. :-)

HBL, is there any chance you might be able to update your FAQ on Blogger about the sidebar dropping to the bottom (link) to take into account how the current post editor can automatically correct missing tags if you switch from Compose mode to Edit HTML mode to Compose mode again before publishing the post as discussed by The new Katney here (link)?
