4 charged in multi-state suicide assistance probe

We are continuing down the slippery slope:

Four members of the Final Exit Network were charged Wednesday with helping a 58-year-old Georgia man end his life by inhaling helium. The group assigns those seeking to end their lives a guide who instructs them to purchase two new helium tanks and a hood, known as an "exit bag," the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

We've gone from assisted suicide to death with dignity to exit.

To move people out of his exhibits faster, P. T. Barnum had the idea of posting signs that read:  This Way to the Egress.   Looks like the suicide crowd have resurrected that idea.

Speaking of 'inside the beltway'

Special Report on Fox is discussing earmarks in the current budget bill.  I had to laugh when Charles Krauthammer cited 'reduction of pig odor in Louisiana' as an egregious earmark.  Well, it was for Iowa, but that is beside the point.  The point is:  Krauthammer has never been downwind of a pig farm!

Juan Williams is right:  A case can be made for some earmarks.  This would be a big one if you live in (or, drive through) Iowa.

WASHINGTON – For the third consecutive year, a classified Pentagon assessment has concluded there's a significant risk that the U.S. military could not respond quickly and fully to any new crisis, The Associated Press has learned.

Senior military officials spoke about the report on condition of anonymity because it is a classified document.

Are you getting tired of leaks of classified information?  First, there is her majesty, Diane Feinstein, leaking information about our activities in the Far East theatre.  Now, this.

Where is the discipline?  Why aren't people getting fired?

Hamas: The time has come

AP Gaza reporter finds hometown in rubble

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — I live alone in my office. My wife and two young children moved in with her father after our apartment was shattered. The neighborhood mosque, where I have prayed since I was a child, had its roof blown off. All the government buildings on my beat have been obliterated.

And, on the story goes:  Destruction, deprivation, misery.  And, the  fault entirely rests on Hamas.  The time has come for Hamas to realize they are doing nothing to advance the establishment of a Palestinian state and sue for peace.   Eternal peace; not hudna.
